TV on The Radio’s Kyp Malone has a new solo project called RAIN MACHINE. ANTI -RECORDS recently released the self titled double LP. New multi channel video installation from Peggy Ahwesh. “The Ape of Nature”  is loosely based on Werner Herzog’s Heart of Glass.  Drawing from Herzog’s unique methods, actors in The Ape of Nature were hypnotized before each scene was shot. I make an appearance in the film as a vagabond musician. There is also some of my music in the score. This installation and film will debut at The James Gallery (CUNY Graduate Center) at 365 Fifth Avenue in NYC. It will also be screened in 2010 New York film Festival at Lincoln Center.

I recently contributed original music to “Working On A Dream”, a documentary about Bruce Springsteen’s performance at Super Bowl XLIII. The music was composed and recorded with nyc sound artist Kato Hideki. This piece of music is a triumph in compositional anonymity, it is completely unrelated to any of my aesthetic sensibilities. It’s challenging to eliminate your personality from something you’re creating but I think we succeeded.
